Chief Executive Officer

Adil El Youssefi

Adil has over 12 years’ experience in both developing countries in Africa and in Asia, and developed ones in Europe. He has strong leadership skills and drive for achievement coupled with a desire to positively impact organizations and people. Adil has an MBA from INSEAD, The Business School for the world, MSc in Engineering from NSEIRB both from France.

Adil enjoys playing Tennis, golf, squash and soccer. With his acquired skills and experience, Adil has experience in areas which include Leadership, Strategy, Execution, Marketing, Product management, Telecommunications, Consumer goods among other areas.

Adil has grown companies in Chad and in Ghana with double digit Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) while ensuring their long term sustainability by focusing on understanding the customers and the market, devising a compelling vision, executing a winning strategy, empowering and growing the leadership team while continuously engaging staff and other stakeholders. Finance Director

Venkateshwaran Ramakrishnan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Hons from the University of Sir Sathya Sai University and is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

Venkat joined Airtel in 2006 as Financial Reporting Manager. Prior to joining Airtel, Venkat worked for Vodafone in Bangalore where he was the Head of Consolidation for the Vodafone Group in India. Venkat started his career in Finance with Standard Chartered (Thailand) where he was in charge of monthly closure.

    Irene Kitinya

Human Resources Director

Irene Kitinya holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and French, Masters in Strategic Management from the University of Nairobi, Higher Diploma from the Institute of Human Resource and is a trained mentor and coach for leadership development accredited by Senn Delaney Consultants UK.

Irene joined Airtel in May 2011 as Human Resources Director, she has over 13 year experience prior to joining Airtel as Human Resource Business Partner in Barclays Bank of Kenya, Human Resource Manager at GlaxoSmithKline E.A

    Dick Omondi

Corporate Affairs Director

Dick Omondi has over 20 years of domestic and international experience in marketing, advertising, public relations and corporate communications with proven track record in managing telecommunications and FMCG brands in East Africa. He was Marketing Director at Vodacom in Tanzania and Celtel in Uganda (now Airtel).

He has also held senior marketing and management positions in East African Breweries, Coca-Cola, Colgate-Palmolive and Kenya Airways. Dick is an alumnus of the University of Nairobi. He is a member of both the Public Relations Society of Kenya and the Marketing Society of Kenya and current chair of the Warriors Council of the Marketing Society of Kenya, Chair of the marketing committee of the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) Council, Kenya. Kobby Adams

Sales & Distribution Director

Joined Airtel Kenya on 9thFebruary 2015

Kobby joins Airtel Kenya from Millicom Ghana Limited he has more than 7 years’ experience, 5 of them within Millicom in various roles and at the Nielsen Company where he started off started off as an Associate in their Development programme before being promoted to Research Director in Hollywood.

Kobby holds an M.B.A. from London Business School in the United Kingdom. He also has a B.A. with a Major in Mathematics and a Minor in Economics from Wabash College, Crawfordsville, Indiana, U SA.

    Topyster Muga

Head of Airtel Money

Topyster Muga (Topy) has been appointed as the Head of Airtel Money Kenya, reporting to the MD, with effect from 1st October 2014. In her pervious role, Topy was a Principal Product Development Manager – Mpesa at Vodafone Group Services, UK.Topy has over 8 years’ experience in the telecoms industry, 5 of which have been with Airtel Kenya and a year within Airtel Africa. She has had a dynamic career within Airtel where she started off as an IT project coordinator/ support and development engineer and grew within the ranks to become Manager, Management Information Systems. She then joined Airtel Africa in 2010 as Senior Manager, Group Value Added Services.

She joined Airtel in 2011 after being awarded the ‘Institute European De Adminstrations DeAffaires’ (INSEAD) Nelson Mandela scholarship at the INSEAD business school in France. She now holds an MBA from the prestigious INSEAD business school. Topy is also a holder of a First Class Honors Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. She is also an alumnus of Strathmore University and Alliance Girls’ High School.

    Abdallah Khamis

Chief Commercial officer

He joined Airtel Kenya on 1st April 2015

He will be responsible for four functions; Customer Service, Airtel Money, Sales and Marketing. Abdallah is tasked with ensuring aggressive business growth and improved service as levers for achieving our overall business objectives He has over 14 years’ commercial experience in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods industry He had an illustrious career within Coca-Cola where he held various leadership positions over a span of 12 years in East , Horn and West Africa countries.

He holds an MBA from the Sloan School of Management, Massachusetts, USA and another from the University of Nairobi specializing in Strategy and Marketing. He has a post Graduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing – UK and a Bachelor of Education in Science from Egerton University.

In his free time, Abdallah enjoys spending time with his family, jogging and reading. He also takes time to coach teenagers.

Josee Cremieux

Customer Service Director

Josee joins Airtel Kenya in January 2015 from Congo Brazzaville where she has been the Customer Service Director for the last 5 years. Josee has worked with Airtel over the past 14 years and has served in various capacities in Marketing, Customer Service and International Roaming.

She has an MBA from the University of Corte France in Business Administration and Master in International Economics from the University of Brazzaville (Marien Ngouabi).

Amit Kapur

Network Director

Amit Kapur holds an Electronics & Telecom Engineering degree from the Gulbargar University India. He joined Airtel in October 2015. Priorto joining Airtel Kenya he was Vice President – OpCo & Partner Governance in the Africa Office. He has more than 19 years of experience ranging from Core, PACO, IN, VAS, RF/Wireless Access and Transmission in the fields of Operations, Optimization, Integration, Planning and Projects.

Has worked with various wireless access technologies like UMTS (3G), GSM Networks (2G, 2.5G), CDMA as well as WiMAX Networks with vast experience in Multi-Vendor environments. Out of 19 years, worked extensively with World’s fourth largest Telecom Operator Bharti Airtel for around 9 Years and 7 Years with World’s largest Telecom equipment Vendor Ericsson

Henry Nyang’or

Head of Supply Chain Management

Henry holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Nairobi, a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Accounting from Kenyatta University, Graduate diploma in Purchasing and Supply attained up to level 5 in Certified Public Accountant certification. He joined Airtel on 1st Dec 2015 from Safaricom where he was the Senior Manager – Purchasing.

He was previously the Procurement Manager – Contracts and Projects at Kenya Airways, a role he held for 2 years. Henry started his career in e- sokoni as an e procurement solution provider in 2002. He then joined British American Tobacco (BAT) as a Materials Planner in 2006. He was promoted to Materials Planning Manager and again to Sub Saharan Africa Area Procurement Manager-Directs before becoming the Area Procurement Business Manager-Operations in 2009. It is well noting that Henry begun his work career as a teacher.

    Bernard Muteti

Enterprise and Wholesale Business Director

Bernard Muteti holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in marketing from the University of Nairobi, a Mini MBA from the prestigious Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad – IIM-A, Executive & Leadership Trainings from GIBS Institute of Management, University of Pretoria, Crestcom International and Mercuri International, and is a fluent speaker of French.

He is a business leader with over 13 years commercial experience locally and Pan Africa in Telecoms with specialties in sales strategies and management, marketing, brand, customer service, operations and relationship management with a strong background in Business Markets.

Bernard joined Airtel in August 2011 as the Group Head of Corporate Business, Global Accounts & Partners at Airtel Africa responsible for Enterprise Business in the 17 Airtel Africa countries before his most recent appointment as the General Manager for Wholesale Business & Alliances, driving the Airtel MVNO strategy in the Kenyan Market.

His has held senior management positions in the industry including Head of Public Sector Sales & Management, Head of Business Operations, and National SME Sales Manager at Orange, as well as Brand & Channels Manager and Team Lead in Customer Relationship Management & Operations at Access Kenya Group.

Levi Nyakundi

Marketing Director

Until his appointment as Marketing Director, Levi Nyakundi was the Marketing Director at Airtel Tanzania and previously Airtel Uganda. He joined Airtel Uganda (then called Zain Uganda) in December 2008 from Uganda telecom Limited where he was the Marketing Manager He started off as a management trainee in Unilever Kenya limited where he grew his illustrious marketing career to become the Marketing Operations Manager, a role he served for 4 years.

 

He has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Nairobi majoring in Marketing and he is also holds a Strathmore Advanced Management Program (AMP) Certificate In his free time, Levi enjoys reading especially self-enhancement literature and is a keen fan of Formula 1 and soccer.

    Joy Nyaga

Legal and Regulatory Director

Joy Joined Airtel on 11th January 2016

She has over 15 years of progressive experience in provision of corporate legal, company secretarial, litigation and general legal advisory services. She will be responsible for leading the Legal & Regulatory function that is critical in supporting the business .She worked previously with Wells Fargo/Fargo Courier Kenya Limited as the Corporate Head of Legal and at Kenya Airports Authority where she was the Chief Legal officer/ Corporation Secretary. Joy brings on Board 16 years Legal and Regulatory experience.

She holds an Executive Masters of Business Administration from Jomo Kenyatta University of Science & Technology, a Bachelor of Laws(LLB) Degree from The University of Nairobi and a Diploma in Law from Kenya School of Law. She is also an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a Certified Public Secretary of Kenya CPS(K).
