Chase Bank Kenya has reported a loss amounting to Sh 792 million for the 2015 financial year.
The bank through its Chief Executive Officer, Paul Njaga, announced that its total interest income declined from Sh15.1 billion to Sh13.5 billion in the period under review as interest expenses soared from Sh6.3 billion to Sh10.5 billion.
The lender’s full year total operating income stood at Sh8.7 billion compared to Sh10 billion posted during a similar period in 2014.
This comes a day after the company announced I had secured Sh 5 billion loan from African Development Bank (AfDB) to support SME lending.
