CIC M-BIMA JIJENGE SAVINGS PLAN FAQS

 

  1. What is CIC M-BIMA Jijenge Savings Plan?

This is a plan where, for as little as Kshs. 600/- per month (140/- per week), you can accumulate your Savings in 12 years and enjoy a maturity benefit of Kshs 100,000/-. The plan can also give cash value benefit or Loan starting from 3 years. CIC M-bima Jijenge savings also has an optional family insurance cover for an additional Kshs 5/- per day (35/- per week)  to provide your family with life cover of Kshs. 100,000/- in the event of death of any family member listed in the policy.

 

  1. Is there a life cover with CIC Jijenge Savings Plan?

Yes. There is an immediate automatic Life Cover of Kshs. 50,000/- to be paid in the event of an Accidental Death of the Policy Holder. In the event of natural Death, the Life Cover or Permanent Total Disability benefit will be payable after a waiting period of 6-months.

 

  1. What if I want to save more than Kshs. 20/- per day (140 per week)?

You can pay as many units of Kshs. 20/- per day as you can afford up to a maximum of Kshs. 400/- per day. Remember, Kshs. 20/- Per day (140 per week) is just the minimum.

 

  1. How can I join the CIC Jijenge Savings Plan?

Visit the CIC branch office neare you or call our customer service number (0703 099120) for direction to our countrywide M-Bima agents.

 

  1. How do I make my savings?

You pay using M-PESA Pay bill number 600114. Your account number is indicated in your policy document which is given to you on joining. The steps for making payments (savings contributions) are outlined on the policy document and the policy identity card.

 

  1. How will I know my savings have been received?

Once you send your contribution, you will immediately receive a message from your mobile/payment service provider confirming that your Payment has been sent to CIC M-Bima.

 

  1. How much will it cost me to send my contribution?

The cost to you is absolutely FREE.

 

  1. Is there a fine/penalty in case I fail to make my contribution on time?

No, just endeavor to ‘top up’ as soon as funds are available. CIC will send you a reminder weekly to make your contributions.

 

  1. When can I start saving?

You can start saving immediately.

 

  1. How do I check my balance?

We will constantly update you on your mobile phone via SMS, though you can still visit our branches or call our customer service number given in (4) above.

 

  1. How long does it take to pay claims?

Fully documented claims are paid within 5 days of submitting.

 

M-BIMA DOCUMENTATION

M-Bima Death Claim Requirements:

  • Proof of Death- Death Certificate/Burial permit
  • Proof of identity of the deceased- ID copy or ID Surrender letter.
  • Proof of identity of the claimant- ID copy of the claimant
  • The policy document or M-bima Card- In case the deceased is the policy holder
  • Copy of the policy document or the M-bima Card/document- If it’s a family cover claim.
  • Claim form duly filled.
  • Certificate of attending physician
  • Police abstract (in case of accident)
  • Letter of administration (In case beneficiary is a minor)

All relevant document copies should be certified as true copies of original by CIC branch administrators/advocate/commissioner of oaths.

 

Exit Requirements:

  • A letter/instruction written and signed by the policy holder
  • Copy of ID card
  • Original M-bima Card/ document issued- If lost an abstract
  • Copy of ATM- for EFT payments

 

Policy Loan Requirements:

  • A duly filled form
  • Copy of ID card
  • Copy of M-bima Card/ document issued- If lost police abstract.
  • Copy of ATM- for EFT payments
