Charles K. Njuguna
Charles joined Faulu Microfinance Bank as the MD in August 2014 from Old Mutual Kenya where he was the Chief Finance officer for 5 years where alongside overseeing the Finance Department he handled various strategic roles within the organisation.He commenced his career with ABN Amro Bank before moving to Fina Bank where he was the Group Head of Finance with a regional responsibility and was closely involved in the acquisitions and setting up operations within the region.
He has over 20 years of experience in the Banking Industry/Financial Services. Charles is a holder of an MBA (Finance) and an AMP from IESE Business School, Spain. He is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K) as well as a Certified Public Secretary (CPS-K). He serves on various Old Mutual Kenya boards as an Executive Director.
General Manager-Technology and Operations
Tom Juma
Tom joined Faulu Micro Finance Bank in August 2014 as the General Manager Technology and Operations having been seconded from Old Mutual Kenya. He joined Old Mutual Kenya in 2008 and has held various senior executive positions the last being the ICT Executive. A career banker, prior to Old Mutual Kenya, Tom worked with various banks in Kenya, amongst them Housing Finance and National Bank in various senior executive positions.
He is a holder of PhD in Information Technology, MBA in Strategic Management, Msc in Information Systems and Management, Bachelor in Technology and Management Science, Management Advanced Leadership Program from Wits Business School and several professional certifications in project management (PRINCE2 Practioner), CISA, Senior CSSP, LEAN and ITIL. He is a fellow of the Computer Society of Kenya, Member of the Executive Advisory board of Aitec East Africa, Member of the Policy Advisory Board, Computer Society of Kenya and CIO East Africa Forum. He is a Hall of Fame 2008 International Who is Who Society of Professionals.
General Manager – Business Development
Amos Mwangi
Amos joined Faulu Microfinance Bank in January 2011. Over the years, he has offered strategic leadership to both Business development and Credit departments within the bank .Currently he is serving as the General Manager –Business Development. Previously, he worked at Equity Bank in various capacities within the business arm. He holds a Master degree in Banking and Finance, Bachelor of Commerce degree (Accounting option) and CPA (K). In addition, he has attended several leadership courses including INSEAD –Channel Leadership Program, School of African Microfinance among other short term professional courses.
Head of Marketing
Carol Kipsanal
Carol joined Faulu Microfinance Bank in April 2014 from Scanad Kenya where she held the position of Business Head for Coca-Cola Central, East and West Africa Business Unit. She has 15 years experience as a communication consultant with a focus in strategy and creative excellence. She has helped build brands across a multi-sector landscape including FMCG, financial services, healthcare and social marketing. She has worked at Young & Rubicam Brands, McCann Erickson and Ogilvy & Mather, and holds a First Class Honors degree in Advertising (Bachelor of Arts) from the University of Nairobi.
Head of Legal
Purity Raaria
A lawyer by profession, Purity joined Faulu Microfinance Bank in May, 2011 as a legal officer. She previously worked with Barclays Bank of Kenya for over 5 years in the same capacity and has also worked for reputable law firms. Purity is a LLB graduate and holds a diploma in law. She is an advocate of the High Court currently pursuing CPS certification.
General Manager – Finance
Bernard Githinji
Bernard joined Faulu Microfinance Bank in January 2011 as Finance and Treasury Manager and was appointed Head of Finance in November the same year. He was previously the Head of Finance at CFC Stanbic Holdings, where he held several other positions in Finance and Internal Audit during his tenure spanning over 8 years. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA, K) and holds a Master degree in leadership (Business & Entrepreneurship), Bachelor of Commerce degree and several Certifications.
Head of Risk
Raphael Lekolool
Raphael joined Faulu Microfinance Bank in May 2009 and is currently the Head of Risk and compliance. He previously worked in Post Bank and Kenya Commercial Bank in various capacities. He has over 17 years’ experience in internal audit, credit, Risk and compliance in the banking industry. He holds a MBA degree from University of Wales, Bachelors of Science degree in Financial Services, Bachelor of Arts Degree. Mr. Lekolool is a fellow of ACCA (FCCA), a member of ICPAK and Associate of the chartered institute of Bankers (ACIB –UK) and a Certified Internal Audit Quality Reviewer.
Head Of Internal Audit
Paul Kahoro
Paul started his career as an auditor in PKF Kenya before joining Faulu Microfinance Bank in July 2006. He has served in various capacities including Senior Audit Manager before being appointed as the Head of Internal Audit in June 2012. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA (K) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). He is currently pursuing an MBA degree at the University of Nairobi.
Head of Credit
Peter Onsongo
Peter joined Faulu Microfinance Bank in 2011 as Credit Administration Manager. He previously worked with Equity Bank Kenya Ltd where he held various positions including Corporate Credit Manager. He has 11 years’ experience in Banking-Credit Management.
He holds a Global Executive MBA (GEMBA) and a BSC degree (International Business Administration-Accounting) from United States International University. He is certified by Frankfurt School of Finance and Management as International Certified SME Expert, and also an Associate of Kenya Institute of Bankers(AKIB).
