Mr. Lopokoiyot has the overall responsibility for the day to day running of the firm as its general manager. He has a solid working experience having joined Genghis Capital as the Operations Manager from NIC Capital where he served a similar position; he has also worked for the Nairobi Stock Exchange in the compliance department. He is a holder of a Bachelors degree in Commerce.
Rebecca Tiba
General Manager – Business Development
Ms. Tiba holds an MBA from ESAMI Business School (Arusha) and a BSc from JKUAT. She has a wealth of experience in Business development and Relationship management spanning over 8 years in the Banking and Investment Sectors. She joined Genghis at its inception and has had a critical role in growth and expansion. She has previously worked at Chase Bank (K) Ltd and Standard Chartered Bank Ltd
Mumbi Mbiyu
Head of Investment Advisory
Ms. Mbiyu holds a degree in Bachelors of Commerce, Finance Option from Catholic University of Eastern Africa and is also pursuing a certificate in Banking and Finance from the Kenya School of Monetary Studies. She previously worked with Citibank N.A. She now heads the firm’s energetic advisory team and has been with the company for close to 3 years, steadily growing with the firm’s status.
Sammy Ghannam
Associate Director – Corporate Finance
Mr. Ghannam has been serving in this capacity since September 2011. Prior to joining Genghis Capital, he held diversified positions with Western Investments Banks (BNP Paribas, Rothschild Group) and Private Equity firms. He has also served as an investment manager with PROPARCO and was involved in originating and executing Debt and Equity transactions in East Africa. Theresa is responsible for the Unit Trust administration, management, distribution and product development. She has over 10 years working experience with different banking and asset management institutions worldwide. She holds a PhD and Master Degree in Economics from the University of Witten/ Herdecke in Germany, and is a Certified European Investment Analyst.
Evans Shamalla
Operations Manager
As the Operations Manager, Mr. Shamalla is responsible for ensuring the smooth process flow of the back-office stock brokerage systems and procedures. He has gained valuable experience working in the company’s operations department for close to four years to his current position. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Science from Egerton University
Wanjiru Gichuru
Head of Trading
Wanjiru is charged with running the trading department at Genghis Capital, primarily dealing with both local and foreign institutions. She is a holder of a BSc. in Actuarial Science from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. Wanjiru is pursuing a Global Executive MBA from USIU. She is a certified ATS dealer by the Nairobi Stock Exchange and has undergone various investment trainings. She was previously with Dyer and Blair Investment Bank as an equity trader.
