It is a very unique course and has very many areas of application. It is also important to note that very few people manage to complete the entire course, unlike MBA where each university graduates over 500 individuals annually.
For instance, the University of Nairobi admits at most 40 Masters Students in Economics. The same university admits over 1000 MBA students. If you compare the two, you will clearly see why you should study Economics.
When you enroll for MA Economic, you are expected to specialize in:
- Applied Economics
- Economic Theory
- Mathematics & Quantitative
Applied Economics tends to be more practical while Economic Theory and Mathematical & Quantitative Economics are more theoretical.
If you intend to work as a Lecturer, Mathematical &Quantitative economics is the best but those who intend to work as lecturers.
