Former English Premier League champions Manchester United were held to a 1-1 draw by the high flying Leicester City at the King Power stadium. All eyes were on one man, Jamie Vardy, and he did it.

Saturday was Vardy’s day as he broke Ruud van Nistelrooy’s record of more than 10 years. Immediately, Nistelrooy congratulated the ‘king’

“Well done vardy7! You’re number one now and you deserved it”, Nistelrooy tweeted

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri congratulated the youngster for his exemplary performance this season. He pointed out that though a draw was disappointing, they achieved one objective, breaking a long-term record.

Vardy noted he was a bit carried away by the record. “I am obviously delighted, but the main thing was the performance,” he said. “It’s unbelievable. I think I got a bit carried away with myself during the celebrations”, he added.

Manchester United Manager was quick to hail Vardy’s form but expressed disappointment with the result.
