Mugabe Turns 92, Birthday Party To Cost $ 1 Million

 

Africa’s oldest President, Robert Mugabe, is expected to celebrate his 92nd birthday that would cost a whopping $1 million.

Party leaders and loyalists are expected to attend the party, which shall feature street parades and parties in Masvingo in the southeast of the country on Saturday.

“Organisers have been working flat-out to ensure the celebrations are a success,” Simon Khaya-Moyo, spokesman for the ruling ZANU-PF party told the AFP news agency. “Everything is in place, and we are looking forward to tremendous events.”

Reports indicate that the party will be attended by over 50,000 guests, who will give the old man an okay to contest for president again.

Mugabe has been the president of Zimbabwe since December 31, 1987,and is expected to pass the mantle to his wife, Grace Mugabe.

His leadership has been from bad to worse, drawing criticism from all corners of the world as the country experience the worst inflation during his tenure.

He is currently the Chairman of African Union.
