Cashiers in Uganda work in SACCOS, banks and any other institution that deals with cash.The salary of cashiers vary depending on which institution you work for.
Banks tend to pay more than SACCOs because they have more resources and the work load is high. In Uganda, the average salary of a cashier is Ush 350,000 but there are other cashiers who earn up to Ush 800,000 while others earn as little as Ush 200,000.
To be a cashier, you have to possess at least a diploma in accounting and finance related courses and CPA or ACCA qualification. Those with undergraduate degrees have added advantage.
