Mr. Chris N. Useki
- Chief Executive Officer
Chris (47) is the Chief Manager, Finance, and was appointed acting Chief Executive Officer on 18th October 2016.
He was appointed as the Sacco’s Internal Auditor in 2002. He is a seasoned accountant with 16 years of experience in financial management. He joined the Society from CMC Aviation Limited and had earlier worked with Mastermind Tobacco (K) Ltd. He was promoted to the position of Finance Manager in 2006.
Mr. Useki is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) in good standing. He holds an MBA and BCom (Accounting) degree from the University of Nairobi.
He is also a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya [CPA (K)] and a certified Public Secretary (CPS). He graduated from Strathmore’s Senior Management Leadership Programme (SMLP) in Dec 2015.
Dr. Gamaliel Hassan
Chief Manager, Business Development
Dr. Hassan(38) is a holder of a Ph.D. in Strategic Management (JKUAT), M.B.A. Strategic Management (KU), B.A. Economics Degree (UoN) and both a CPA (K) and CPS (K) (Strathmore DLC) in good standing with the respective institutes. Hassan has over eighteen years work experience, thirteen of which have been spent in senior management roles.
He is passionate about mentorship and has been awarded Special Recognition by the Kenya Private Sector Alliance, Ministry of Devolution & Planning and The World Bank for his invaluable contribution as Mentor to the Kenya Youth Empowerment Project.
Hassan is open to communications, with interest in people and culture. He has expertise in corporate strategy, business expansion, customer orientation and commercial awareness together with a high aptitude in research, advocacy and networking. He is gifted in bridging the gap between theory and practice, having had vast experience of leading teams in matrix management structures.
Mr. Harrison N. Gitau
Ag. Chief Manager Finance and Head of Risk
Harrison Gitau (38), the acting Chief Manager Finance and Head of Risk, has worked for Stima Sacco for seven (7) years.
He was appointed Head of Risk in October 2016, prior to which he worked as the acting Chief Manager Finance from August 2015. Previously, he served as the Society’s Internal Audit Manager and subsequently the Head of Internal Audit between April 2010 and July 2015.
During his time at Stima, Harrison has championed a wide range of initiatives aimed at improving corporate governance, risk management maturity, financial performance and operating efficiency. Harrison is passionate about striking a balance between business growth on one hand and corporate resiliency on the other hand.
Prior to joining Stima he worked as an Internal Auditor at KCA University and also as a Professional Services Officer at the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK). He has also worked for Unilever Kenya in the Internal Audit Department.
Harrison holds a B.Com (Accounting Major) from Kenyatta University and an MSC (Information Systems Engineering) from the University of Sunderland in the UK. He is a CPA (K) and a member of ICPAK in good standing, a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and a Certified Enterprise Risk Management (CERM) professional.
Harrison has also undertaken training and certification in Corporate Governance and is an alumnus of the Strathmore Business School’s Senior Management Leadership programme (SMLP).
Mrs. Mary W Kiema
Head of Credit Operations and Ag Chief Manager Operations
Mary Kiema (56) was appointed as Head of Credit Operations and Ag Chief Manager Operations in October 2016 after serving as the Customer Experience Manager for one year. Mary previously served in the Credit Department for 19 years. She has a wealth of experience in the co-operative movement, having served as a Co-operative Officer in the Ministry of Cooperative Development for 16 years in Nakuru, Kisumu and Nairobi.
She holds a Degree in Cooperative Business (BCOB) finance option from JKUAT, a Diploma in Cooperative Management from the Cooperative University College of Kenya and is a Certified Sacco Professional from Strathmore University (SWAMIWOCCU program). She is an alumnus of the Senior Management Leadership Program (SMLP) offered by Strathmore Business School class of 2015.
